Kitten's passion for makeup blossomed in 2008 while on a U.S. National tour with Natasha Bedingfield. It was to be their first performance on the "Today Show", America's top morning TV show. Excitedly, she hopped into the makeup artists chair for the first time, ready for her superstar treatment.
Expecting Naomi Campbell glamour, the mirror instead revealed a less-than-flattering vision of ghostly-looking skin and ashy-looking colors! It appeared, the artist, while talented, wasn't familiar with darker skin hues and strong African features. After similar fiascos, she realized she was just as good, if not better, as many of the makeup artists were and decided to do her own makeup for major TV shows.
As her skills improved, makeup artists began to respect her like a peer, asking her what's in her bag, suggestions for darker skin and was even asked to do a few touchups on the road for Natasha Bedingfield and other background singers she traveled the world with!
She hopes to create her own vegan, cruelty-free makeup line in the future.
Presently, she does beauty, costume and sfx makeup for photoshoots, music videos, movies, commercials and performances in and around the LA area.
